Now I like Tom Hanks. I think he is a solid actor and I like most of his movies, but I wish actors would stay away from politics. From his Time interview talking about WWII;
“Back in World War II, we viewed the Japanese as ‘yellow, slant-eyed dogs’ that believed in different gods. They were out to kill us because our way of living was different. We, in turn, wanted to annihilate them because they were different. Does that sound familiar, by any chance, to what’s going on today?”

Perhaps we wanted to 'annihilate' them because of Pearl Harbor or because they wanted to take over the pacific? Maybe?

It is so unbelievable that the actors show such a lack of intelligence and understanding of our US History. Tom go back to school dude, you look like a very uneducated dofus.
Hey Tom, where do you get the idea that your race is racist? Racism is for the ignorant regardless of how you look. This whiteman racism is for the birds, it just isn't valid anymore. The only thing that is keeping racism alive is those that constantly think the world owes them a living. Those that want to have an excuse for being a failure in life. All races have diff levels of success, those that work smart, get educated as much as possible and have a positive outlook on their future regardless of their past, will be successful. Racism is not the issue, laziness and constantly being reminded that there is a difference in one race from the other, that one is better than the other, that's the problem. It's not the color of your skin or where your born that matters, it's how you live you life that sets your direction.

I don't understand why all of Hollywood are in bed with the liberals...I just don't get it.
It's hypocritical. They make tons of cash, yet still don't use it to help people. But then they want the government to do it.
I don't understand where he is coming from. I thought after working on projects like "Saving Private Ryan" and "Band of Brothers" he would have a real appreciation for what that generation did for the rest of the world. Why would he "slam" a group of people he has tried so hard to honor? Remember, he has done a lot of work on behalf of the World War II Memorial. What's up, Tom?
