Spotlight: Halford

what is this?? rain? Seriously, it hasn't rained in about 6 months and today it has been pouring all day long. It's funny to watch kids run from class to class trying not to get wet. Then you have the 'cool' kids that don't want to seem like they are freezing so they walk slower than they ever have.

I also noticed that tardies seem to disappear completely on rainy days. Makes me wonder how the tardies are in outdoor high schools in the north west. Would they just adapt after some time? Oh well.

Music this week was Halford and Judas Priest. Now Halford's Crucible is one of my favorite albums of all time. It is solid from start to finish. A lot of people like to focus on his first album Resurrection, but I tend to like Crucible better because it is more of a modern metal album than a power metal album like Resurrection. Don't get me wrong it has it's moments, but Crucible is just a lot better. The music is more varied; you can go from a song like Betrayal or One Will to a song like Trail of Tears or Crystal, and then even a song like Golgatha (which borders on doom metal at times). I honestly can't find one thing wrong with this album. If I had to pick something I would probably say it has that stupid intro...a 40 or so throw away track. Seriously, just put it part of the song!

I should also note not only is the guitar playing incredible, but the drumming is top notch as well. The intro to Betrayal is classic. I would say it rivals Painkiller in terms of speed.

If you are a fan of Painkiller then this is for you, just go get it now!
